This week, I was fortunate enough to head to Fremantle in WA, to attend a conference for business owners. We had the absolute privilidge of listening to speaker, Rabia Siddique.
Rabia is an international humanitarian lawyer, global inspirational speaker, best-selling author, retired British Army senior officer, former war crimes and terrorism prosecutor, and hostage survivor. She received a standing ovation at her TEDx talk in front of 1700 people, and this conference was no exception. She also received one from us.
This week, my group focussed a lot on active listening and the ability to resonate instead of trying to relate when people share their life experiences. I have listened to many speakers, and Rabia is someone who really moved me. Who I resonated with on numerous levels. I am still in awe of how incredible her story was, but also how she managed to capture and retain a large room of people's attention by her ability to take us on her journey.
When was the last time you resonated with someone's story? How did it make you feel?
